Penang Pickleball Exchange Tour Tournament 2025: Competition Heats Up With Big Prizes And Statewide Teams

The Penang Pickleball Association (PPA) has officially announced the Penang Pickleball Exchange Tour Tournament 2025, set to take place from 27 to 30 June 2025 at Pickleland Penang. With the backing of sponsors Triple Ace and the AFA Community, along with support from the Malaysia Pickleball Association, KBS, and Jabatan Belia dan Sukan Negeri Pulau Pinang, the tournament is shaping up to be a premier event in the Malaysian pickleball calendar.

Tournament Format And Match Structure

The competition will adopt a team-play format, with each team consisting of 10–12 players. Teams will compete in the following categories:

• Men’s Doubles: Two pairs

• Women’s Doubles: One pair

• Mixed Doubles: Two pairs

Matches will follow a single-round robin format in the elimination rounds, transitioning to a knockout stage for the semi-finals and finals.

Registration And Entry Details

Registration Fee: RM 2,500 per team

• Competition Entry: RM 1,200

• Closing Dinner: RM 1,300

The registration fee covers:

• Tournament jersey

• Sling bag with goodies

• Door gift

• Lunch pack for two event days

Eligibility: Players must be at least 18 years old. All team members must come from the same state, with groupings to be determined through a draw.

Prize Pool And Rewards

A minimum of 16 teams is targeted for the tournament, with a capacity to expand to 24 teams if demand is high. The prize structure is as follows:

• 16 Teams:

  • Champion: RM 5,000

  • First Runner-Up: RM 3,000

  • Second Runner-Up: RM 2,000

• 24 Teams:

  • Champion: RM 8,000

  • First Runner-Up: RM 5,000

  • Second Runner-Up: RM 3,000

Safety And Waivers

All participating players will be required to read and sign an Indemnity Waiver, included in the tournament entry forms. This waiver is designed to ensure that players acknowledge and accept the risks involved in competitive play.
