WPC Asia Grand Slam Malaysia 2025 Set To Make Historic Debut In Kuala Lumpur
Pickleball’s global momentum continues with yet another major milestone—this time in Southeast Asia. For the first time ever, Malaysia will host a World Pickleball Championship (WPC) event, marking a new chapter for the region’s rapidly expanding pickleball scene.
Scheduled for 16–20 July 2025, the WPC Asia Grand Slam: Malaysia 2025 will be held at The Pickle Grounds, a premier rooftop venue atop Kuala Lumpur’s One World Hotel. It’s a fittingly grand stage for an event that has already drawn over 1,000 participants from more than 17 countries, all competing for prestige, global recognition, and a total prize purse of RM120,000.

A Championship With Global Reach
Launched in 2019, the WPC Series has quickly grown into the largest international pickleball tournament circuit. In just six years, it has spanned over 80 tournaments across 15 countries and four continents, drawing more than 60,000 players of all levels. The upcoming Malaysia edition isn’t just another stop on the tour—it represents a strategic entry into one of Asia’s most passionate and promising pickleball markets.
Malaysia’s inclusion on the WPC calendar reflects the sport’s exponential rise in the region, and it elevates the country as a key hub for pickleball in Asia.
Powered By Technology And Global Rankings
Behind the scenes, the WPC works hand-in-hand with Pickleball Global, the world’s premier tournament and ranking management platform. The tournament will use a hybrid ranking system that integrates WPC standings with Global Pickleball Rankings, ensuring fair competition and transparent performance metrics.
This data-driven approach helps players track their progress on an international scale and adds a layer of legitimacy to what is already a fiercely competitive series.
A Tourism Boost With Sporting Appeal
The event’s arrival in Malaysia is also deeply aligned with national tourism goals. Backed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the WPC Asia Grand Slam plays directly into the country’s “Visit Malaysia 2026” campaign. With pickleball among the world’s fastest-growing sports, hosting a high-profile event like this puts Malaysia in prime position to attract both athletes and spectators as part of a growing sports tourism push.
As the countdown to July begins, anticipation is building—not just among local players, but across the international pickleball community. The WPC Asia Grand Slam: Malaysia 2025 is poised to be a landmark tournament that blends world-class competition, stunning urban views, and a showcase of pickleball’s ever-expanding global footprint.
